Key Facts & Background

How to Appeal

Every company must offer an appeals service so that "mitigation" can be used to cancel tickets that should not have been issued in the first place. Mitigation is not valid for subsequent stages so also add in issues like unclear or confusing signs in your appeal too. At this stage it we recommend you demand a copy of the authorisation they have for the site too. For more information on the company including details of their letter chain follow this link

Should you appeal at all?

Our recommendation for this operator: Contact the BMPA Helpdesk as soon as possible. Or check using our Parking Ticket Wizard link here

Dealing with a Claim?

Many of the Claims issued are no more than computer generated templates which we term 'RoboClaims'. Examples are here. If you want to see how to prepare a defence see our 'RoboDefence' here. This is not a substitute for a well crafted answer to a claim but it should give you a basic framework as a start.

How to get more information from the Parking Operator

Parking Operators like to hide any information from you such as copies of images they have taken, copies of letters they have sent, and any background information they may have you. You can get all this information from them under the Data Protection Act by sending a Subject Access Request to their Data Controller. Similarly, the DVLA are obliged to tell you who have been requesting your details and when they were sent. You simply write to the DVLA and ask.
